Volunteer Opportunities:
- We Honor Veterans Volunteers
Sponsored by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Volunteers assist with military veteran pinning ceremonies recognizing service and, when appropriate, are paired up with veteran patients to enhance their end-of-life experience and provide support for the unique needs veterans may experience on their journey.
Our Mission:
To provide specialized medical, emotional and spiritual care to people of all ages – and their families – living with any end-stage illness in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. Hospice care is offered when a patient is no longer receiving curative treatment and has a life expectancy of six months or less . It includes palliative (comfort) care in addition to a wide range of other services, including medical and nursing care, medications and equipment, hospice aides and emotional, spiritual and bereavement support for the entire family.
