Toledo’s Grassroots Volunteer Network

Heartbeat of Toledo

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Many of our caring and compassionate volunteers work with young women facing unplanned pregnancies offering their support and assistance to women who often feel they have nowhere to turn. Heartbeat volunteers who work directly with clients are asked to complete a two-hour training orientation. Volunteers are then placed with an experienced volunteer to shadow for several shifts until they feel confident to work directly with clients on their own.
  • Nurses are very much needed to work with our pregnant women.
  • There are also many behind the scenes opportunities such as record keeper and data entry.

Mission Statement:

Heartbeat is a life-affirming organization whose mission is to be the best source of information and support to women facing pregnancies and to help mothers, fathers and babies in need. Your First Look is our medical component offering free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds and confidential options counseling. Heart to Heart is our Prenatal and Parent Learning program.
