Volunteer Opportunities:

Volunteers are matched to positions based on ability, interest, and position availability. Consider your skills, goals, and motivation for volunteering when deciding which position best suits your interests.

Volunteer Opportunities include:

  • Wish Granter – there is a high need for volunteers who either live or are willing to travel OUTSIDE of the larger metropolitan cities within our footprint. Two wish granters are needed on every wish and must be at least 21-years-old. Volunteers may work with a specific partner on wishes or with various volunteers located in the same geographical area. As a wish granter, your main duties are to meet with the family, ask the child about his/her desired wish and act as a liaison between Make-A-Wish® staff and the wish family during the wish process. The average time commitment is 1-2 hours per month for 6-9 months. Attendance at a training session is required. Wish granters are also encouraged to volunteer/help with at least one fundraising event per year.
  • Kids For Wish Kids® or Wishmakers on Campus® Coordinator – this program offers students of all ages and school staff members the exciting opportunity to assist in granting the wishes of children in their own community. Schools/groups have sold magnetic or paper wish stars, coordinated pie-in-the-face or chili cook-off contests, or hosted talent shows-it’s all up to the students’ imagination!
